it was a little piece of winter not far from here. the rain was not as much cold as it was insightful. and it was more than willing to lend a helping hand.
as it rattled against a bedroom window, i spaced out in front of the prospect of a storm.
it was the most passive shadow i had ever seen, in that it was almost healing the darkness of its lack of light.
i almost lost my heart to the beauty of a single day. the snowmen caught in the updraft greeted me as they waved goodbye, wafted away into the torment of the sky.
and i just smiled and raised my arms to hold the sun i could not see, in a summer, cold and cloud-filled destiny . . .
